EN50131

This European standard for Intruder Alarms provides the basis for a substantial rethink of the design and specification of alarm systems for intruder detection.

In the UK, the standard BS4737 has been in existence for over three decades. BSI has published PD6662 which embodies the explanations and interpretations necessary for implementation of EN50131 in the UK.  As more parts of the EN standard are published, these are planned to become incorporated into PD6662. This document has superceded BS4737 and is now in mandatory use.

Input to PD6662 has been provided by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) where Elmdene is proud to be to be represented on both the UK and European technical committees.

Elmdene has a wide range of products that comply with the new standards and more will be introduced as further parts of the standards are published.
