On the 31st January 2020 we witnessed a “political” BREXIT which led to a 12-month transition period and on the 31st of December 2020, we will witness the “economical” BREXIT.

For our valued customers in the EU, this will mean our goods will be subject to customs checks, require additional paperwork and may be subject to import duty.

Here at Elmdene, we have been preparing for over a year, by working with our freight forwarders, following Government advise as well as utilising expert consultants to ensure we are in the best position to handle the changes BREXIT will bring.  We have so far:

  • Made ready our sales, shipping, and customs documentation to include:
    • Our customer’s and our EORI numbers
    • Product UKHS codes and weights and value
    • Product country of origins
    • Formatted for simple customs processing
  • Familiarised ourselves with the new customs procedures
  • Increased our stocks
  • We have been in contact our EU customers
  • We have reviewed our internal processes, we are confident that we can maintain our levels of service
  • We have confirmed our products will remain CE compliant

For our EU customers, we recommend that you review the following guidance here to ensure you are aware of the changes that BREXIT will bring and any that may affect the way you do business with us.
