Portsmouth-based power supply manufacturer Elmdene International has announced its formal commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions, publishing its first customer-facing sustainability report.
Part of the Potter Global Technologies group, Elmdene has set out clear targets and a transparent roadmap for reducing carbon emissions across its operations, covering fire detection, intruder alarm, access control, and general security applications across the UK and internationally.
"Sustainability has to be more than a policy document. For Elmdene, our net zero commitment represents a genuine shift in how we think about our operations and our impact. We want our customers and partners to hold us to it," commented David Adkins, Managing Director.
The commitment reflects growing expectations across the fire and security industry, where sustainability credentials are playing an increasingly important role in purchasing decisions and procurement frameworks.
Operations Director Gareth Stephenson added, "A significant part of our environmental footprint sits within our supply chain. We are working with our suppliers to drive improvements across the board, because sustainable products start with a sustainable supply chain."
