Elmdene, along with many other businesses in the UK, have acted on UK Government guidelines and implemented social distancing, increased cleaning and hygiene measures within our factory. We are pleased to report that we remain able to continue to meet our customer demands and support the critical fire and security sectors.
However, with the continued safety of our employees in our minds, we have decided to go one step further, and as from April 20th, will shorten our working week by closing the factory every Friday. As a result, we will not be despatching goods, receiving deliveries or able to process orders or enquires on Fridays until further notice.
This action will ensure our facility is left unoccupied for over 72 hours each week, which according UK Government guidelines, will significantly decrease the amount of infectious virus on any surfaces within our factory and warehouse and will provide a more clean and sterile working environment for our employees.
Given the reduced customer demand for our products at this challenging time, we remain confident that we will be able to continue to meet customer demand whilst operating a 4-day working week in this way. We will continue to monitor and review the situation with the aim of getting back to normal as soon as it is safe and appropriate to do so.
Our supply chain and inventory remain in a strong position, so please feel free to continue to place your normal and regular purchase orders which will still receive our full attention.
